Undoubtedly, starting a solidarity project like the Jeb Andrews Foundation is a unique experience, difficult to express. For some years I had been thinking, somehow, to start a project through which I could give back to people in need all the good that this life has brought me so far.
Nothing has been easy. I have two beautiful daughters, an incomparable travel companion and good friends who support me in my sometimes surprising decisions. In today’s times, where the world seems to have lost the perspective of what is really important and vital, where values such as solidarity, love, empathy and generosity are surpassed by the virtuality and immediacy of actions and effects, a foundation loses all its strength as such. It is not easy for those of us who still believe that a little from many makes a whole for few. Especially when those “few” are people who need help.
My love for country music, for composing and performing my own songs, as well as my passion for horses and all that surrounds the cowboy world, did the rest. On December 31, 2014 the Jeb Andrews Foundation was definitely born. Promoting a record work, named J.A.Foundation, with 13 songs created by myself, composed in the basement of my house, to give wings to this project.
The challenge then arises as to how far the help can go thanks to a country song composed by someone totally anonymous and who, with an acoustic guitar on his shoulder, performs his songs to raise funds to help families with sick children. Families with children with cancer. From going solo to forming the Jeb Andrews Foundation Band, made up of altruistic friends, great people with a generous and caring heart.
We are at the beginning, we are starting on a path which, both the goal and each step we take to reach it, shows us that there are no limits to solidarity and empathy towards those who need help. It is not an easy road, since solidarity is neither spontaneous nor sometimes free. But as the good cowboys say, if you don’t throw the lasso, don’t wait for the calf to run to you. Thanks for your support,
Thank you for believing in our project.
Cowboy Strong!
